Distribution: C and S Pyrenees, mountains of NE Spain; crevices in shade, limestone rocks.
Evergreen perennial 10 cm high, up to 20 cm diameter. Leaves in rosette, ca. 7 cm long. Flowering stems 6-12 cm tall. Flowers 1-6 per stem, 30 mm diameter, flat, deep violet. Fl. late spring, summer.

Immergrüne Staude 10 cm hoch, bis zu 20 cm Durchmesser. Blätter in der Rosette, ca. 7 cm lang. Blütenstiele 6-12 cm hoch. Blüten 1-6 pro Stiel, 30 mm Durchmesser, flach, tief violett. Bl. Spätfrühling, Sommer.
Distribution: Pyrenees, Jura, Alps, Apennines, Carpathians, 1300-2970 m above sea level; moist grasslands, stony places, rocky slopes, on limestone.Â
