Perennial tufts- or clump-forming up to 10-12 cm tall. Stems erect. Flowers in racemes 2-4 cm long, violet/lilac-blue, 10-12 mm long, V-VI.
Distribution: E and SE Europe, Caucasus; steppes.
Perennial 20-60 cm tall. Leaves cut into narrow, filiform or linear lobes. Flowers 30-80 mm diameter, solitary, terminal, dark red. Fl. IV-V.
